SAG Awards

Award Season is here! Rather, it's been here... (I'm just a little behind...)

The SAG Awards was on last night. And, while I look forward to hearing who wins in the major categories, my heart is really set on the red carpet. To see what the stars are wearing and if it looks great on them.

I was looking forward to seeing what Natalie Portman would wear. While, I love a woman who embraces the changes in their body as they go through pregnancy, it was a little tight around her stomach. But, all in all, she looks great.

I love Dianno Agron. She looked fabulous in her tea-length Chanel Haute Couture dress. It was perfect. It felt young and brought a sense of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.'

While there were many wins in my book, there were also misses...

Until then...

Forever 21

It seems like yesterday that I was once 21. In years, but in zeal of life, I think I'll always be 21. Forever 21.

Forever 21 was established in 1984, merely 26 years old. But, despite its age, it is one of the stores that bring about diversity and ideas into style business. I still shop at Forever 21, mainly because I can find really cute clothes for cheap. Or rather rather than the name brand during days when I am not willing to splurge.

Access the Forever 21 Spring Look Book and go to its website to see if there is anything that might interest you to shop and buy. It seems to all be cheerful colors to take us from the grayness of winter into spring. The link is through a blog I follow.

Marciano

Marciano. Guess by Marciano.

An extension of the Guess Inc. brand, named after Paul Marciano. It is an American luxury brand that sells accessories aside from clothing. But, this isn't about the history of Guess or Marciano. This post is about how I love clothes from the Marciano branch of Guess Inc.
I've bought only two dresses from Marciano, so far. My reason, the prices. Granted, the prices are the same if you are planning to buy a dress at Nordstrom but I feel like buying a dress from Marciano takes a special occasion. I've bought a corset dress and a sequin dress for two different occasions. One was for a holiday party and the other one for my bachelorette party. I feel like dresses from Marciano makes you feel more than yourself. It takes you to another level- where you have to be comfortable wearing the dress. And, not let the dress wear you. All the dresses just seem to hug you in the right places and show just a small amount of something to keep people coming back for more.

One of the dresses that I bought is on their best sellers. You can see it here: Best Sellers. It's the Dalena One Shoulder dress (which you can see below).
I adore this dress. You can dress it up with some sexy heels and with minimal jewelry. The dress can speak for itself. Or you can dress it down and wear it as a tunic over some skinny black jeans and red pumps.

Ciao!

Hairstyles

Hair comes and goes. I consider it an accessory. Something you can change easily with a flick of you hair (no pun indented). :-)

Short, medium or long hair changes our outlook on things. I love having long hair since you can do so many things to it. Curl it, straighten it, pin it up or down. And, each look is different. And, makes you feel different. Sometimes, I envy the women whose curls just stay put. My hair does not hold a curl. It looks perfect for the first five minutes and then becomes flat after.

But, this is not a post about my hair woes. I came across an article online while on Allure.com about hairstyles. The nine most romantic hairstyles. The hairstyles range from relaxed waves to a loose braid. Nine very easy hairstyles that you can do at home. Note: all the hairstyles are for long hair. Now, do you understand my envy?

Facial for Oily Skin

Ever looked in the mirror and realize that you are as shiny as it? That you could bounce off light off your nose. The feeling of being greasy. And dirty. Especially, when you're wearing makeup. No more worries! I came across this when I was reading my Google Reader. So in order to fight against having the unpleasantness of being super oily, we can look to making homemade facials. The site lists several recipes that are skin-friendly and teaches us how to keep the skin spotless and resistant to factors that are harmful.

Having oily skin is a result of the sebaceous gland working overtime. So, in order to keep it on a perfect level, we need to take preventative measures to counteract it. These recipes provide tricks that help remove excessive sebum from the pores surface and keeps our complexion flawless and yet bright, not oily, at the same time. There is a recipe for using strawberries and butter. Another one calls for tomato and flour.

Check out the recipes by clicking on the following link: Homemade Facials for Oily Skin

Also, my brother used tomato soap a couple of years back and it helped tackle his acne. Tomatoes have lycopene, which is an antioxidants. So, eating your tomatoes and using it on your face is doubly good for you.

Ciao!

Spa Treatment

Spa.

Doesn't the word just send you in a world of euphoric bliss? I know, it does to me. More than often, women always tend to put everyone else first than themselves. It is hard to find the time to just go away and indulge in being pampered. I know, I am guilty of that. But, it is also a money issue. Even if one can go to a spa, the amount of money spent is huge. Sometimes, the amount you pay to have one spa treatment done is equal to maybe eight hours of work done.

But, I came across a post of one site that I follow. It is about spa treatments that one can do at home. I, myself, have not tried any of the treatments but was too excited to share it with everyone. Most of the ingredients are ones that you can easily find in your own home.

There is a recipe for both a detoxifying bath and a body scrub. Both, actually sound very tempting right now. Doesn't a nice soak sound amazing right now after a long day? They recommend using baking soda for the bath since it is very gentle on the skin. And, you can never go wrong with epsom salts. As far as scrubs, just mix equal parts of olive oil and sugar to apply to your face and lips, which are very sensitive, while a mixture of coffee grounds and olive oil can help minimize cellulite.

It seems very easy. And, something that you could probably just before you need to use it.

Just icing on top...

Shopping.

To look for something with the means of acquiring it.

We've all done it. Shop, I mean. Be it window shopping or actually buying. We all enjoy it. I know I do. We all follow trends and want to emulate what someone else is wearing. And, love giving it a twist of our own. Since, we are all unique individuals.

This blog will be dedicated to trends, styles, what's in, what's out. It'll also follow blogs that cater to the same thing. But, mostly, it'll have my point of view on things. You may like it or you may not, but, all in all, please enjoy.

After all, I love what I do and who I am. And, shopping is just icing on top of the cake.
